Democrats Serve PAC endorses Aditya Pai for Congress (CA-45)

Milford, Conn. (April 24, 2023) — Today, Democrats Serve, a national hybrid political action committee (PAC) that helps public service Democrats run for office and win, announced an endorsement of Aditya Pai’s congressional bid in California’s 45th District.

Brett Broesder, the PAC’s executive director, stated that Aditya Pai’s public service background, including serving in Senator Mark Warner’s DC office (D-VA), makes him an excellent example of a Democrat running for office who can excel as a candidate and policy maker.

Aditya Pai noted that he’s thrilled to receive Democrats Serve’s endorsement.

“For me, public service isn’t a career; it’s a calling,” said Pai. “As an immigrant who grew up here and still lives in this district, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles that folks throughout our community face every single day. Our community deserves better public service. That’s why I’ll lead the charge in Congress to support small businesses, empower hard-working families, and fight for sane and humane immigration reform.”

Republican Michelle Steel currently represents California’s 45th District. However, Joe Biden won the district by more than 6 points in 2020 (Biden 52.1% - Trump 46%). And Cook Political Report has classified it as one of the most competitive districts in the country in 2024.

Geographically, the district is mainly in Orange County, including Brea, Fullerton, Placentia, Buena Park, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Cypress, Garden Grove, Westminster, and Fountain Valley along with Artesia and Cerritos in Los Angeles County.

Democrats Serve endorsed several Golden State-based candidates in 2022, including Katie Porter(CA-47), Ro Khanna (CA-17), Anna Eshoo (CA-16), Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Ami Bera (CA06), and Karen Bass (LA Mayor).

The organization’s overall national effort consists of recruiting, training, and supporting Democrats with backgrounds serving communities in government, including educators, police officers, firefighters, first responders, social workers, judges, prosecutors, public defenders, public health nurses, and more.
