Aditya Pai announces raising 100,000 within the first month of launching his campaign
BREA, CA – Today, Harvard-educated attorney and CA State Bar Pro Bono Service Award recipient Aditya Pai is announcing that his campaign has met the first major fundraising milestone of raising $100,000 in the campaign to defeat Rep. Michelle Steel in 2024. Since launching the campaign in early April, Pai for Congress is the first Democratic campaign in CA-45 to reach this early metric of viability and also is the first to earn the endorsement of a national political action committee (PAC), Democrats Serve.
Pai announced his campaign shortly after the DCCC announced their list of“2023-2024 Districts in Play”, which is the list of competitive districts that Democrats will target in an effort to regain the majority in the House.
CA-45 is a seat with over a 5 percent Democratic registration advantage and a district that voted for Biden by over 6 percent in 2020.
“I am energized by the support this community has provided to our campaign, ”said Aditya Pai. “As our early supporters know, I’m running for Congress because we need public servants in Washington who want to make a difference, not just politicians out to make a living. Our campaign exists to inspire public service. And it is my lifelong dedication to service that has allowed us to earn the support of so many so quickly and achieve this important benchmark.”
“The people in this district overwhelmingly support a woman’s right to choose, smart gun control to protect our children, and a focus on improving the lives of middle-class families through thoughtful policies on housing, education, and the small businesses that are the lifeblood of our community,” Pai continued, “The incumbent’s record on these issues proves that she simply does not share the values of our community. It is time for a change in leadership.”
